History
Broulee Mossy Point Dunecare started in 1991 to assist Eurobodalla Shire with control of the spread of Bitou Bush along the Broulee coastal strip. In 2004 the group became very active in controlling beach erosion. This included fencing of dunes and management of access tracks through the dunes onto North Broulee beach and also in the Bengello Bangalay Sandforest EEC. Currently the group undertakes removal of noxious and environmental weeds and garden escapees along the 20 hectares of dunes in front of Broulee residences and is involved in educating the residents of the Mossy Point headland in conservation of the EEC Themeda grassland on coastal headlands and sea cliffs. Plantings near the Broulee Surf Life Saving Club at South Broulee have been undertaken with the help of local school students. |
