We received an update from Warren Sharpe @ council thanking outgoing President Marie Zuvich on her contribution and providing updates on local works:
Candlagan Bridge repairs
The repair works on Candlagan Bridge have been, in part, removing concrete to expose and check the steel reinforcement. The work done to date has identified that the extent of corrosion is more extensive than anticipated.
We have therefore temporarily ceased works on the bridge to permit further specialist assessments to be undertaken. This should occur over the next month, after which we will provide the Broulee Community Association with an update.
Grant Street cycleway
We are pleased to advise that we have secured $90,000 in grant funds from the RMS to match the $90,000 Council has allocated in the 2013/14 budget. Design works for the section between Heath Street and McNee Street will be undertaken with a view to constructing this pathway this financial year.
